Wilmy has been with the Province of Zeeland since 2014, and has been Chief of Cabinet and Director of the Roosevelt Foundation since 2021. Wilmy previously held positions as department head and department manager Communications. She then worked as Department Manager Administrative Support. Before making the switch to the Province, Wilmy worked as Team Manager HR, Communication, Board and Management Support at the Municipality of Bergen op Zoom.

When Wilmy became Chief of Cabinet of the King's Commissioner in Zeeland in 2021, she also became director of the Roosevelt Foundation. She considers this a particularly honorable task, which also influences her as a person. In the search for laureates, Wilmy hears and reads many inspiring stories from people and organizations that are committed to the rights of their fellow man. The personal sacrifice that Svetlana Tsikhanouskaya made for her fight for her country and compatriots deeply touched Wilmy. Wilmy found the entire ceremony in 2022 very impressive. It made it clear that keeping Roosevelt's legacy alive is important and still current.
