In 2006 the following persons and organizations received a Four Freedom medal:

• The International Four Freedoms Medal went to Mohamed Elbaradei.
• The Freedom of Speech award was presented to Carlos Fuentes.
• Taizé Community received the Freedom of Worship award.
• The Freedom from Want award went to Muhammad Yunus.
• Daw Aung San Suu Kyi received the Freedom from Fear award.
