The second presentation of the Four Freedoms Awards took place on June 23, 1984. The laureates were Harold Macmillan for the International Four Freedoms Award, Amnesty International for the Freedom of Speech Award, Werner Leich & Christiann F. Beyers Naudé for the Freedom of Worship Award, Liv Ullmann for the Freedom from Want Award and Brian Urquhart for the Freedom from Fear Award. The Awards were handed over by William Jacobus vanden Heuvel.
