On Thursday, April 11, the fourth edition of the Four Freedoms Meet-up took place in the Nieuwe Kerk in Middelburg. More than four hundred young people discussed freedom with this year's Four Freedoms Awards laureates, with Roosevelt's Four Freedoms as central values. The organizers, the Freedom Colleges Foundation and Roosevelt Foundation, look back enthusiastically.

During this edition, young people went into discussions with international freedom advocates, who received the Four Freedoms Awards earlier in the day: Mykola Kuleba (director of aid organization Save Ukraine), Eliot Higgins (founder of research collective Bellingcat), Zumretay Arkin (spokesperson for the World Uyghur Congress), Sônia Guajajara (Minister of Indigenous Affairs in Brazil) and Grace Forrest (founder of Walk Free, which opposes modern slavery). They can also ask questions to journalist Derk Sauer en and activist Melati Wijsen, who made the connection with the Dutch context and experiences of young people. The presentation was in the hands of filmmaker Ikenna Azuike.
