FREEDOM IN MUSIC

May 5, 2010 - Liberation Festivals

From April 28th unitl May 5th, 16 students from the conservatories of Amsterdam and Rotterdam, and 8 students from American conservatories have formed four bands and composed music with the Four Freedoms as the theme. The resulting compositions were performed at the Liberation Festivals in Den Bosch, Zwolle, Rotterdam, Assen and Vlissingen on May 5, 2010. The Liberation festivals commemorate the liberation of theNetherlands from the Nazi occupation in World War II.
